Tokyo Comic Convention Co., Ltd. (President: Takehiko Goto) has announced the celebrity guest information for “Osaka Comic Convention 2025” (hereafter “Osaka Comic Con 2025”), which will be held for three days, from May 2 (Friday) to May 4 (Sunday/holiday) at Intex Osaka (Suminoe Ward, Osaka City).

The First Celebrity for “Osaka Comic Con 2025” is Finally Revealed!

Despite being held for the first time in 2023, “Osaka Comic Con 2023” attracted an impressive 51,675 fans. In the following year, “Osaka Comic Con 2024” saw even more visitors, exceeding 61,828 attendees—over 10,000 more than the previous year. The event has grown to rival the main “Tokyo Comic Con,” showing tremendous momentum. Now, as Japan’s top pop culture festival, it continues to generate excitement and emotions each year. This year, the event will be held from May 2 (Friday) to May 4 (Sunday/holiday) at Intex Osaka!
With less than two months to go, the first celebrity guest for “Osaka Comic Con 2025” has been announced: Sung Kang, known for his role in the “Fast & Furious” series, will be attending!

Sung Kang will be at the event on May 2 (Friday) and May 3 (Saturday/holiday), and he will participate in photo sessions, autograph signings, and more.
Details about ticket sales for the photo sessions and autograph signings will be announced at a later date.

“Fast & Furious” Fans, Get Ready! Han, Played by Sung Kang, Makes His First Appearance at Japan’s Comic-Con!

Sung Kang, who gained fame for his role as Han, the cool and calm driver in the iconic car action film “Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift” (2006), has had a remarkable career. After starring in popular TV shows such as “Felicity,” “Spin City,” and “Cold Case,” his role as Han in the “Fast & Furious” series catapulted him to international fame. Although Han was thought to have died in “Tokyo Drift,” he made a miraculous return in the 9th installment of the series, “Fast & Furious 9” (2021), and is set to appear in the final chapter, “Fast X: Part 2” (2023).
Sung Kang is also known to be a huge car enthusiast in real life. He has previously visited Japan to attend the world-renowned car show “FUELFEST JAPAN,” founded by Cody Walker, the brother of the late Paul Walker, who is still beloved by “Fast & Furious” fans. During his visit, he made headlines by stopping by one of Japan’s major beef bowl chains, which generated buzz among his fans.

Cosplay Collection Makes Its First Appearance in Osaka!

After its successful debut at Tokyo Comic Con last year, the “Cosplay Collection” stage will be held at Osaka Comic Con too!
As was the case last year, participants are welcome to join in cosplay attire, but we also invite people to participate in bound fashion, comic-style outfits, and any other favorite outfits they would like to showcase. Individuals, families, friends, and even children can apply to participate. Who knows—there may even be surprise guest appearances and well-known celebrities joining in the fun!

Cosplay Participants, Don’t Miss This! Cosplay Tickets Go on Sale Soon!
Cosplay, one of the most popular activities at Comic-Con, will have its “Cosplay Participation Pass” and “Early Changing Room Access Ticket” available for purchase starting at noon on March 15 (Saturday)!
The “Cosplay Participation Pass” is necessary for participating in cosplay at “Osaka Comic Con 2025,” as well as for using the changing rooms and cloakrooms. Anyone planning to participate in cosplay during the event must purchase this pass along with their admission ticket (single-day or 3-day pass). With this pass, you’ll also enjoy the benefit of a smoother experience when changing clothes or storing your belongings at the venue.
Additionally, if you purchase the Early Changing Room Access Ticket, you will be able to use the changing rooms and cloakrooms starting at 9:00 AM on May 2 (Friday), and from 8:00 AM on May 3 (Saturday) and May 4 (Sunday), allowing you to welcome fellow fans at the entrance in your cosplay before the event starts.
While it’s possible to use the cloakroom (for an additional fee) without the “Cosplay Participation Pass” or other tickets, please note that tickets are limited, so be sure to get yours early!
