Tokyo Comic Convention Co., Ltd. (President: Takehiko Goto) is pleased to announce that the “Osaka Comic Convention 2025” (hereafter referred to as “Osaka Comic Con 2025”) will be held over three days, from May 2 (Fri) to May 4 (Sun), 2025, at Intex Osaka (Suminoe Ward, Osaka City). In addition, we are excited to announce the launch of a Main Visual Contest for the event.

The 3rd Annual Osaka Comic Convention 2025 Confirmed!

The “Osaka Comic Convention 2025” will be held from May 2 (Fri) to May 4 (Sun), 2025!
Since its first edition in 2016, the Tokyo Comic Con has been held annually in the Kanto region. In May 2023, the event expanded to Osaka for the first time as “Osaka Comic Con 2023.” During the event, a total of eight celebrity guests, including Mads Mikkelsen, Orlando Bloom, Millie Bobby Brown, and Michael Rooker, graced the event. There were also displays of movie props (used in films), cosplay meetups, and other activities, drawing a total of 51,675 fans over the three days.
The “Osaka Comic Con 2024” saw even more excitement, with 11 celebrity guests including Jason Momoa, Tom Hiddleston, and Norman Reedus. More than 61,000 Comic Con fans attended, making it an even bigger success than the first year.

Now, the much-awaited third edition of Osaka Comic Con will be held from May 2 (Fri) to May 4 (Sun), 2025! Various events, including exhibitions, photo and autograph sessions with Hollywood stars and international celebrities, and more, will be held at Intex Osaka.

Main Visual Contest for Osaka Comic Con 2025 Announced!

In addition, the highly popular Main Visual Contest, held at Tokyo and Osaka Comic Cons, will also take place for “Osaka Comic Con 2025”! This contest determines the year’s Main Visual, which will serve as the symbol of the event. The contest is open to both professionals and amateurs, so anyone can participate!
In the “Osaka Comic Con 2024,” the Grand Prize was awarded to the work of Japanese artist Sanpei Hirado, known for his work on music video illustrations, goods, magazine and book covers, character designs, and more. His design was featured on posters, pamphlets, and various other materials, adding to the event’s visual appeal. Sanpei Hirado also participated in the event, meeting fans and receiving great praise.

All entries to the Main Visual Contest will be displayed at the “Osaka Comic Con 2025” venue. The Grand Prize-winning work will be used on the event website, brochures, venue boards, and various Comic Con merchandise. Additionally, the winner will receive a booth (1 booth) in the Artist Alley, where creators of Marvel Comics, DC Comics, and other American comics also showcase their work each year.

Content:
We are looking for designs for the Main Visual of Osaka Comic Con 2025. We welcome works inspired by movies, comic books, and the event’s theme.
Note: Only original works that have not been published domestically or internationally are eligible.

Prizes:
Grand Prize (1 winner): 1 booth at the Osaka Comic Con 2025 Artist Alley
Runner-up (1 winner): 3-Day Pass for Osaka Comic Con 2025 (pair)
Award for Excellence (up to 10 winners): General Admission Tickets for Osaka Comic Con 2025 (pair)

Submission Period:
From October 29, 2024 (Tue) to January 31, 2025 (Fri), 23:59 JST

Eligibility:
Open to all, both professionals and amateurs. (Minors must have parental consent.)

Submission Method:
Submit your work via the official website’s submission form.
Artwork Size: A1 size (594mm x 841mm) / 350 dpi resolution / CMYK
Upload the artwork as a ZIP file through an online file-sharing service and include the upload link in the submission form.
Please note that only digital submissions will be accepted. If you create the artwork by hand, please photograph it and submit the image file.

Result Announcement:
Results will be announced in mid-February 2025 after careful review by the committee. Winners will be notified via email.

Important Notes:
Submissions must be original works that do not feature existing characters owned by other companies.
By submitting your work, you agree to the transfer of rights for the Grand Prize, Runner-up, and Award for Excellence artworks to the event organizers.
The Osaka Comic Con logo may be added to the submitted artwork, and by entering, you consent to this.
The Grand Prize winner’s artwork will be used on the official website, in brochures, on Comic Con merchandise, and in other promotional materials.
The Runner-up and Award for Excellence works may be used in promotional materials as well.
The rights to the contest prizes are non-transferable and must be claimed by the original winner.
The contest prizes cannot be resold on online auction sites.
